On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, we spent time in relaxation mode. Craig and Sarah (fellow teachers) left on Wednesday, so we were all alone…just the two of us. Wednesday, Kevin rented a motor bike and rode all over the island. We had rented a bike another day, and rode together, and I knew my “behind” wasn’t “up” for a long, arduous ride.
So, I sent Kevin off on his merry way and I went to the beach and sat in a lounge chair. I spent time in the ocean, reading on the lounge chair, and ate lunch at our favorite roadside stand. We really liked the place right across from where we stayed overnight. It was all covered with a roof, but open on all sides, and the kitchen was outside as well. The food was beyond amazing, and it was pretty inexpensive, as well. Everything we had was under $4 each.
Then, on Thursday and Friday Kevin and I spent time on the beach, swimming, reading, playing games, going for walks. I don’t know how people do this all of their retirement years. It would get old. It’s nice right now, but I couldn’t do this for months!
Be sure to read the bottom line of this English menu. We had a good laugh over this one.
Another shared laugh as we walked along the beach.
One of the pretty resort fronts for Nai Thon Beach. We didn't stay here, but we loved the flowers above the rooftop.
Then, Saturday, we were picked up at our condo and took two ferries to the next island we were headed to: Kho Lanta. While on the ferry, we were close to amazing rocks—huge monster rocks jutting up out of the water. It was like something out of a movie.
More to come in days to come!

Hilarious menu! They are quick to catch on to American slang...the old "cool" became "neat" and then "sick" and is now "beast"! Out of Cy's mouth frequently comes the phrase, "That is so beast!"
oh, and I can just hear your sweet little cook say, "I cook you more food." You're so good at making friends!
