Several months ago, Kevin came across a clearance sale price on some coffee beans at one of the big stores in Ulaanbaatar. He picked up several packages, and we've been grinding away for our morning coffee. This week, I ground the last of the coffee beans, so I've been checking prices at different places. The prices were triple what he had paid for our last supply, so I was putting off the purchase, hoping to find just the right coffee. Yesterday, it "rained" coffee:
The two zip loc bags full of foil packs of coffee was delivered to us by a man who came to Ulaanbaatar this week from Rochester. He's travelling with Mongolian heart patients from Samaritan's Purse, escorting them back to their homes after having surgery in Rochester, MN. The coffee is from our favorite coffee place in Rochester, Panera's. It was sent by our friend, Steve, who owns the Rochester Panera's. How nice! And just in time...we only had enough grounds left for about two more mornings.
However, our "cup" was just beginning to get full. An hour later, we had a team meeting, and a team mate who is moving back to the U.S. gave us a package of coffee she won't be able to get used before she leaves. That's the silver "Cameron's" coffee which is Vanilla Hazelnut. What a nice treat this is, as well!
Then, later in the evening, a man stopped by to deliver some fresh-roasted coffee from "U-Bean" ("U" as in "Ulaanbaatar"!) coffee shop down the street. He lived with us for a week recently, and was blessing us with this coffee, knowing that we would appreciate this gift.
So, all within about five hours, we received gifts of coffee which will last until we leave to go back to the U.S. in May.
Psalm 23:5b: My cup overflows!
